Convenient and Fast Waste Disposal without the Noise
So, what I do for a living won’t exactly set the world on fire. You see, I’m a person who decided to make selling kitchens my vocation in life. It wasn’t exactly what I had planned, but I enjoy being around people and I’m also a bit of a closet interior design enthusiast.
I believe the kitchen is the heart of a home, so much happens there (apart from cooking). I mean, which room do guests head for first when you’re having a party? Chances are it’s the kitchen, because this is generally where you can get a sneaky peek at all the scrummy food that’s on offer, and it’s also the place where you can help yourself to a drink.
However, I digress.
Don’t Take Garbage Disposals for Granted
What this website is here for is to give you an idea on the type of garbage disposals there are on the market. You may think this is pretty low down on your list of home appliances, but I have had enough customers over the years to prove otherwise. They are an integral part of the kitchen, but if you have the wrong one for the job it can really cause you a headache.
Today, you’re going to get a review on the Waste King L-8000 Legend Series 1.0-Horsepower Garbage Disposal unit. Although I am responsible for selling whole kitchens, I also get involved with the appliances that will make life easier in this room of the home.
The Waste King L-8000
So, what’s so special about the Waste King L-8000 1.0? Let’s have a look…
As the name suggests, this garbage disposal has an output of one horsepower, and this makes it powerful enough to spin the blades at 2800rpm. I’m not the most technical of people, but even I know this makes it one of the most powerful models on the market.
Waste King has made this model compact enough to fit under just about any kitchen sink, it measures just 14.25 inches tall and 9 inches wide. Oh, and the manufacturer has kindly included a 36 inch power cord so it can be plugged in without any trouble.
Many waste disposal units suffer from rust after a while because the parts are around water all the time. Not with this model! It has corrosion free parts and is also covered with some of the best warranties to be had on the market.
Clean and Safe
This model has a splash-guard, and you’ll find the opening is smaller than other units. This means less mess and also makes it easier to clean. Some of my customers have noted the opening might be a little too small, but once I pointed out they’re far less likely to lose their utensils or other small kitchen items, they were quite happy.
Best of All
The best thing of all is how quiet this unit is. I’m sure there will be a nod of heads when I mention the fact that you have to cover your ears when the waste disposal is switched on, but not with this one. Due to the technology used with the Waste King L-8000, it hardly makes a sound.
The next best thing is the price. Ok, it’s not the cheapest garbage disposal around, but it’s excellent value for money for such a powerfull unit. Last time I checked it was $127 at Amazon, a steal for such a great waste disposer. Check here to see the current price.
This really is about as good as garbage disposers get, but if you’re looking for the Rolls Royce in this industry you should also check my review on the InSinkerator Evolution Excel. It’s a pricey unit compared to the Waste King L-8000, but you’ll get three grinding stages and ultra-silent operation.
